Medicine Abuse Project Partners

Every day, 2,500 teenagers abuse a prescription drug for the first time. What’s worse is that they’re taking these drugs from their own homes, right out of their medicine cabinets. Medicine abuse impacts everyone. It affects parents and caregivers, communities and schools. It is detrimental to the futures of our children. But there is a solution to this problem, and with your support, we work every day to end medicine abuse.

The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids has been addressing the opioid epidemic since the early 2000’s, and in 2012 brought together a group of partners from the public and private sectors to form the Medicine Abuse Project. The Medicine Abuse Project (MAP), provides online resources for parents, healthcare providers, educators and community leaders. MAP provides information on appropriate storage and safe disposal of medications, and a toolkit equipping communities to set up drug takeback programs in compliance with DEA regulations.

On behalf of the families we serve, thank you to all of our MAP partners.

For more information about becoming a MAP partner, please contact Kaila Sassano at 212-973-3555 or Kaila_sassano@drugfree.org.
