Join Us for New Facebook Live Series: Learn Skills to Help You and Your Child Communicate Better

We are excited to announce our first-ever “Parenting Skills Facebook Live: Support for Families Concerned with Substance Use” event taking place on Wednesday, August 15 at 8 p.m. ET on the Partnership’s Facebook page. We are hosting the Facebook Live along with our partners at CMC: Foundation for Change (CMC: FFC).

This is the first in a series of Facebook Live events, which will highlight techniques from CMC: FFC’s Invitation to Change Approach, a unique mix of Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These techniques are evidence-based approaches shown to help individuals move toward making meaningful life changes.

The featured expert will be Dr. Kenneth M. Carpenter, who will discuss the topic: “One Answer Does Not Fit All: Understanding there are many paths to helping your child.”

Dr. Carpenter will share how this important perspective can be of help when parents and caregivers are concerned about their child’s substance use and how participants can apply these techniques at home with their own families. The Facebook event will end with a Q&A session, where viewers can ask questions of Dr. Carpenter.
