National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is This Saturday, April 27

The next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is taking place this Saturday, April 27, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., where collection sites across the country will take back unused medications – no questions asked.

Twice a year, in April and October, Google partners with the DEA to promote National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Google is making it easier for people to find nearby Take Back Day events in their local areas by using Google Maps technology.

Google is also helping raise awareness about the opioid epidemic and is linking people to our resources on the Google.com homepage and has featured the story of our Parent Coach Jacqueline. After losing her son, Adam, to a heroin overdose, Jacqueline dedicated herself to helping other families struggling with substance use by volunteering as a Parent Coach with the Partnership.

Previous Take Back Days have collected 11 million pounds of excess prescriptions, reducing the supply of prescription drugs available for abuse. Safely disposing of unneeded medications is a simple, concrete step Americans nationwide can take to do their part in helping curb the nation’s opioid epidemic, while helping keep their households and communities safe. Find a nearby drop off site in your area at g.co/rxtakeback.
