    Senior Director, Peer Support Services

    The Senior Director, Peer Support Services will lead overall development and refinement of our volunteer peer support program, which connects trained, volunteer peer parent coaches who have personal experience with a child’s substance use disorder to parents now in that situation to provide support. The program currently offers both phone and digital options for parents. This role will directly supervise our Volunteer Coordinator and will report to our Vice President, Family Services and Evaluation Research.

    Responsibilities of the job include: 

    • Demonstrate and reflect the mission and values of the organization
    • Proactively coordinate and collaborate with colleagues to fulfill the mission and objectives of the job
    • Lead volunteer peer support program
      • Oversee budget, contracts, and grant deliverables
      • Serve as lead clinical trainer and supervisor for peer coaches/facilitators
      • Develop and deliver training curriculum
      • Provide on-call support as needed during working hours and some occasional evenings/weekends
      • Serve as lead spokesperson for the program
      • Supervise peer program staff
    • Some travel required

    Qualifications: 

    • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, human services, or closely related field
    • 8+ years’ work/education experience in clinical program services with increasing skills/knowledge preferred, including supervisory responsibilities
    • Personal experience supporting a loved one with addiction preferred
    • Experience developing and leading trainings
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to convey empathy, understanding and guidance for parents/caregivers
    • Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and counseling competency
    • Organized and detailed with strong writing and communication skills
    • Dependable and responsible
    • Compassion and empathy for those impacted by addiction

    Annual Salary Range:  $85,000 – $95,000

    This is a hybrid role. The Senior Director, Peer Support Services will work in the New York City office at least one day per week.
