On Friday, June 24th, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The Dobbs decision will result in hardship for many of the families we serve, in particular, teenaged and young people, people of color, low-income individuals, and pregnant people struggling with substance use. This reversal of the constitutional right to privacy as it relates to reproductive freedom, and what it portends for the future of other rights, is alarming.
We are committed to supporting our staff and their access to health care services, and are encouraging those who feel strongly about this issue to seek out and get involved with like-minded advocacy organizations in their community. We recognize that this is a very personal and complex issue, and that our employees, and the families we serve, have diverse feelings and opinions about it. Consistent with our values, we strive to be respectful of those differences.
