Up to $382 million in Access to Recovery (ATR) grants will be awarded in FY2010 to support treatment voucher programs for individuals with alcohol and other drug problems.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will award approximately 30 grants of $2-$4 million each for up to four years to states under the ATR program. The program is intended to “provide client choice among substance abuse clinical treatment and recovery support service providers, expand access to a comprehensive array of clinical treatment and recovery support options (including faith-based programmatic options), and increase substance abuse treatment capacity,” according to SAMHSA.

The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment will administer the grants, which are directed to Single State Substance Abuse Agencies. Application deadline is March 10. For more details, see the full grant announcement online.
