$3.7 Million Awarded to Expand ’Reclaiming Futures’

Three more juvenile drug courts will implement the Reclaiming Futures intervention and treatment model thanks to new grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced that the funding will bring the total number of communities using Reclaiming Futures to 26. RWJF is providing about $1 million in technical assistance to the new sites, while SAMHSA is funding the addiction-treatment portion of the program and OJJDP will fund court operations under the public-private partnership.

The latest round of grants went to the Colorado Judicial Department, the Superior Court of California for the County of Ventura’s Juvenile Drug Court, and the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Okla.
