    Sarah M. Bagley, M.D.

    Sarah Bagley is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine and is board certified in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. She is the founder of the CATALYST at Boston Medical Center providing integrated substance use care and primary care for youth where she sees patients. Her passion is to ensure that all youth who use substances have access to high quality, equitable care to promote their health. Her research focus is on the engagement of young adults who use drugs and their families in care to minimize risk for overdose and the complications of drug use. She has funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and PCORI to conduct research about engagement in treatment and overdose prevention of young adults after nonfatal opioid overdose and reducing stimulant related overdose.     Michelle Stransky

    Michelle L Stransky, Ph.D.

    Michelle Stransky is a health services researcher and sociologist who examines health and health care outcomes among underserved populations, especially people with disabilities. Her research focuses on (1) identifying mechanisms, processes, and policies that (2) can be leveraged to reduce disparities via (3) system-level changes. She pairs statistical analyses of nationally representative survey and site-based electronic health record data to identify health disparities with thematic analyses of interview data to reveal the processes underlying such disparities. Her work focuses on recommending improvements to policy and clinical practice that will reduce disparities.     Priyanka Srivastava

    Priyanka Srivastava

    Research Coordinator

    Priyanka Srivastava is a Clinical Research Coordinator within Boston Medical Center's Department of Pediatric Research Services. She is passionate about the intersections of global health and biology, and especially focused on the advancement of health equity through optimization of healthcare delivery for chronically-underserved and marginalized populations. She recently earned a Master's of Science in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, and prior to her work at BMC has a background in both neuroscience and global public health research. Priyanka has experience conducting qualitative and quantitative community-based research, and collaborated with Partners in Health and Harvard Medical School to explore the effects of HIV-related stigma on LGBTQ+ adolescents living with HIV in Peru, including mental health outcomes and treatment utilization. Alongside pediatric medicine, Priyanka is also interested in infectious disease and maternal-child health, especially the linkage between maternal mental health and child health outcomes. In her free time, Priyanka enjoys cooking, painting, and practicing classical Indian dance.

    Sarah Vernovsky is incredibly excited to be joining the BMC branch of the PCYF study as a Research Coordinator under Dr. Sarah Bagley. She is concurrently a Clinical Research Coordinator II leading recruitment for the POD study (Placental markers of Opioid Exposure in Development) at BMC under Dr. Elisha Wachman. Sarah recently transitioned from a Research Assistant III role at Harvard's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering where she supported an immune cell engineering project, and this past summer she completed a professional ethics fellowship with the FASPE organization. In her free time, Sarah likes to rock climb, sing in a choir, and spend quality time with friends.
