Key Points Parents Should Know Before Joining One-to-One Peer Coaching
Peer Coaches Are Trained Volunteers
- Peer Coaches are trained by the Partnership to End Addiction.
- Coaches are volunteers with their own lived experience supporting a family member affected by substance use.
- In the role of Peer Coach, they are not acting in the capacity of licensed therapists, doctors, or legal professionals.
Peer Coaching Is Supportive, Not Clinical Treatment
- Peer coaching provides emotional support, guidance, shared experience, and practical resources. Parents understand and agree that the coaching they receive through this program does not and is not intended to replace medical care, therapy, crisis services, or professional treatment.
- Advice and information shared through coaching should be considered supportive guidance, not professional directives.
- We do not guarantee specific results or outcomes from peer coaching.
If you feel that this is not a good time for you to commit to Coaching, you can always chose one of our other free services offered through the Partnership. Please contact our Helpline again to receive our other resources and services.
Participation Is Free and Voluntary
- Peer Coaching is offered at no cost to Parents. Parent and/or Partnership to End Addiction can stop peer coaching services at any time.
How Communication Works
- Coaching happens through live phone calls or text messaging exchange with a real person, a parent with lived experience.
Privacy and Confidentiality
- We protect personal information of our parents
Phone Calls Are Recorded
