Partnership Resources Featured in “Opioid and Substance Use Prevention Guide” Webinars

The Partnership’s Pat Aussem was featured in Boys & Girls Club of America’s “The Opioid and Substance Use Prevention Guide” webinars. Aussem is a Master Addictions Counselor and has also volunteered as a parent coach.

The webinars are for Boys & Girls Club staff members and Aussem discussed how the Partnership’s resources can help Club families who have been affected by the opioid epidemic.

The comprehensive resource guide on opioids helps Club leaders and staff initiate conversations about the continuum of substance use, while equipping them with the knowledge to address addiction. The guide helps readers understand risk factors and warning signs, as well as the importance of personalizing strategies based on the needs of the community, schools, parents and youth – rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all approach.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating great futures for America’s youth. The Partnership teamed up with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to create this guide that provides strategies for substance use prevention, guidance for staff and youth coping with trauma from loss, and offer resources for partnering with the community to prevention opioid use.
