Partnership Parent Coach Participates in Maryland Town Hall Meeting on Opioid Crisis

Partnership Parent Coach Susan Knade, along with Steve Cline, our Deputy Director of Field Operations and Alliances, recently participated in a town hall meeting focused on the opioid crisis. The meeting was hosted by WJZ-TV, the CBS affiliate in Baltimore, Maryland, which aired the town hall meeting twice, in its entirety.

Susan, who is currently featured in one of our public service announcements, shared her family’s personal story working through her daughter’s heroin addiction. Susan and Steve also discussed the free, customized services the Partnership provides to parents and families who have a son or daughter who is struggling with substance use. These include ways to get help and support through our comprehensive online and offline resources that include a  Helpline at 855-DRUGFREE.

Susan and Steve also had the opportunity to meet Dr. Leana Wen, Commissioner of Health for the city of Baltimore and representatives from the High Intensity Drug-Trafficking Areas.

In addition to volunteering her time as a Partnership Parent Coach, Susan facilitates an Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP) on Maryland’s Eastern Shore where she lives.
