Twelve New Parent Coaches Trained in Dayton, Ohio

We recently hosted another successful parent coach training, this time in Dayton, Ohio, where 12 caring family members who have been impacted by a loved one’s substance use were trained to become parent coaches.

At the training sessions, both the trainers and the trainees share stories and gain knowledge from their first-hand experiences. Trainees encourage one another to keep the feelings of hope resonating through the weekend and beyond.

We hosted the session with help from Family of Addicts, a Dayton-based nonprofit that educates, empowers and embraces families, friends and individuals struggling with addiction by providing support and promoting recovery.

“I was that parent before it happened to my son. I had the wrong idea of what someone using substances looked like and what kind of parents they had… Now I know that idea is not true and I want to help others know this and help them see that there is hope.” – An anonymous parent coach
