Faye J. Calhoun has been named the board chair of the National Association of Children of Alcoholics (NACoA), stepping up from her role as a board member since 2006. She replaces Carol B. Cisco, Ph.D., who will remain on the NACoA board.

Previously, Calhoun served as deputy director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) and currently holds an advisory post at North Carolina Central University.

“As our country continues to look for ways to reduce health care costs, NACoA is fortunate to have a nationally recognized scientific expert who is so familiar with research on children of alcoholics,” said NACoA Chairman Emeritus Donald Ian Macdonald, M.D.
