The Connecticut Health Foundation will select up to 20 fellows to “foster, support, and promote a generation of leaders committed to reducing racial and ethnic health disparities” in the state.

The 2011 Health Leadership Fellows program will run from September 2010 to June 2011 and is intended to “create leaders, particularly racial and ethnic community leaders, who represent a variety of public and private sectors in public policy, health practice, healthcare administration, community, law, business and commerce, advocacy, academia, or any other related field.”

Fellows will attend two weekend retreats, monthly seminars and other educational sessions. Each will receive a $1,000 stipend; those employed by nonprofit groups will receive a $250 gift for their organization.

Application deadline is May 3, 2010. For more details, see the full program announcement online.
