Electronic cigarettes would be treated just like regular ones under a bill approved by the New Jersey legislature, the Associated Press reported Dec. 12.

The bill, passed 38-0 in the Senate, would ban the use of e-cigarettes in places where smoking is banned, including workplaces. Sale to and use by minors also would be forbidden.

The state Assembly also passed the bill last week; it now goes to Gov. Jon Corzine for his consideration.
