Grants of up to $750,000 are now available to government agencies under the Second Chance Act Youth Offender Reentry Initiative, which fund demonstration programs designed to promote community reintegration of juveniles released from prison, jail, and juvenile facilities.

The program is administered by the Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Nonprofits cannot apply directly for funds but are encouraged to become subgrantees for state-funded initiatives.

Funding may be used for substance abuse treatment and related services, as well as job placement, housing, mentoring, and other post-release services.

Application deadline is June 15.
