The New Hampshire House of Representatives has approved a bill that would legalize medical use of marijuana, the Nashua Telegraph reported March 26.

The bill, which passed on a 234-137 vote, will now be sent to the state Senate for review. It allows caregivers or eligible patients to possess six marijuana plants and up to two ounces of useable marijuana for treating a “debilitating medical condition” with physician supervision.

This is the fifth attempt by New Hampshire proponents to get medical-marijuana legislation approved; past measure all died in the House. Opponents said they were concerned that passing such a law would contribute to efforts towards wholesale marijuana legalization, and that the bill does not provide instructions about how patients will procure the drug.
