About Our Merger with Center on Addiction

December 2018

Dear Donor,

I am so proud of the work of the Partnership. I have served as its Board Chair for the past three years, leading this nonprofit to pursue new digital innovations, like Help & Hope by Text, and to increase our dedication to serving families at a time when overdose claims nearly 200 lives per day.

A crisis of this magnitude requires leadership, innovation and collaboration. At the Partnership, we have incredible resources, peer-to-peer assistance, unique evidence-based programs and even more in the pipeline.

Yet, we knew we needed greater resources to sustain our work and to expand current efforts, and we began to look for a partner who could bring complementary capabilities, coupled with the same passion and commitment we have always had to help families navigate addiction treatment. We looked for a partner who could help to modernize and improve the treatment system itself, and one who could help us shape policies that could prevent and treat addiction as the public health issue it is.

We are so pleased to inform you, one of our trusted donors, that we have found just that partner in Center on Addiction. This merger brings opportunity to leverage the work of two of the country’s leading nonprofit organizations focused on adolescent substance use and addiction on a much larger scale and would have potential for unprecedented impact. We will keep you informed with updates, and thank you again for your generous gift. Our work is truly not possible without you.

With gratitude,

Mike White
