Join our free online support community for parents and caregivers who may have children experimenting with, or dependent on, substances.

Specially trained parent coaches, with support from helpline specialists, host regular online gatherings to share guidance on addressing substance use and related issues with teen and adult children. Parents and caregivers will also find support and connection among other participants facing similar issues.

The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection.

How to join

Gatherings are an hour long and take place weekly using Zoom (a free video conferencing service available for download on your computer or smartphone; allow extra time to install before joining your first meeting). You are welcome to join any meeting, although specified gatherings are intended to meet specific needs.

Please register before attending your first online support community gathering. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation that includes the Zoom meeting link. We suggest logging on 10 minutes prior to the start of the meeting for a simple tutorial on using Zoom.

What to expect

Our solution-based focus combines discussing real-life issues and applying evidence-based skills and techniques to help address them. Topics include common concerns such as how to talk with your child so they will listen, establishing healthy boundaries and household rules, and limits and consequences. We also discuss specific issues related to substance use, treatment, recovery and relapse.
