Saturday Night Live Crossed the Line: Letter to Lorne Michaels

Saturday Night Live Crossed the Line with Heroin AM Skit- Partnership for Drug-Free Kids

As countless families struggle with opioid addiction, last Saturday’s “Heroin AM” skit on Saturday Night Live was not only in poor taste, but an insensitive reaction to the real pain and suffering caused by this epidemic.

However the joke may have been intended, the suffering experienced by families touched by addiction is no laughing matter. In response, Partnership President and CEO, Marcia Lee Taylor, sent a letter to Lorne Michaels, Creator and Executive Producer of the show asking for his commitment in helping us address the prescription drug abuse and heroin crisis.

Read the letter here.

We know we’re not alone in our outrage, so here’s how you can get involved:

P.S. If you or someone you know needs help with heroin use, call our Toll-Free Helpline at 1-855-DRUGFREE or visit drugfree.org/heroin.

SNL has been crossing lines forever. People have to stop being so sensitive. Murder and rape, child molestation & Bullying are over the line. I don’t like religion disses & certain hosts/ musical guests but I just tune that out if I don’t like it. We don’t live in a china shop so grow up and put your big girl or boy pants on and move onto something else.
