The e-cigarette maker Juul Labs is considering opening up its own retail stores in the United States, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The company has already hired some staff for potential locations in Houston and Dallas, people familiar with the matter told the newspaper. They noted the company has not made a final decision on whether to open its own stores.

Juul is considering the two cities in Texas because of their high smoking rates. The company considered and rejected Chicago and Baltimore. It is expected to open a store soon in South Korea.

Juul stopped selling its sweet and fruity flavors in retail stores in November. The company continues to sell all of its flavors on its website, which has age controls. Juul also has developed a vending machine that scans photo IDs to verify a person is over 21, according to the article.
