Get personalized support for your family
Partnership for Drug-Free Kids helps families impacted by adolescent substance use and addiction. We are seeking bilingual (English/Spanish) individuals with a master’s degree in social work or a related field, and a background in addiction treatment and/or family treatment for a full time role centered around providing services to parents and caregivers struggling to help the child or young adult in their life. This role is an integral part of our direct services, with primary responsibility for responding to inbound phone calls, text and web chat messages from parents and caregivers affected by their child’s substance use.
In addition to the Helpline and chat support, our services include a system of peer-to-peer parent coaching, which pairs trained parents who have experienced a child’s substance use disorder with parents whose kids are struggling now. Our support services rely heavily on the principles of Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, which have been shown to be effective in helping the family members of someone involved with substance use in ways that produce positive outcomes for the person using, and for the family as well.
This position will focus on the Helpline, responding to inbound online communications, documenting communications within a collection/reporting system and directing families to services within their communities as well as Partnership resources if and when appropriate.
